Last year my work took a new direction when I started to focus on women's portraiture as a tool for free self expression, empowerment and body positivity. Then the #metoo movement was born and for the first time in my life I felt I had something to fight for: a three billion strong army of which I am a proud member.
The system of abuse, violence, harassment and prejudice that all women are subjected to is big and ugly but - if men choose to learn and participate - it is conquerable. I know this because I have worked with, photographed, encountered and loved women who are stronger and more tenacious than the bullshit injustices we collectively face. These photos, taken over the last couple of years, are my ode to women and our dogged determination to be seen, heard and treated as equals.
