Its not just outrageously beautiful curls that these two have in common. Astrid and Mark share a curiosity in the world and passion for life that is unmistakable, and their combined force of nature is something wonderful to behold. This was their second wedding, the first held in Mark’s native England, and it played out like a midsummer dream at a friend’s home in Hermanus. Surrounded by the majestic Koegelberg Mountains and the soft blue-green of the Whale Coast, they said their I-dos in front of an intimate gathering of their closest friends and family, the officiate bold and liberal in his understanding of a happy union (good sex was mentioned more than once!) This was one of the very first weddings I photographed, and I remember thinking, “If this is what love looked like, and if I can keep capturing it, sweet!” Thank you Astrid and Mark for instilling such optimism in all those you meet.
